The Dominican Republic is on the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean region. The country has the Caribbean Sea on the south coast and the Atlantic Ocean lies to the north while in the west lies the smaller and lesser developed Haiti. The country enjoys a pleasant maritime climate and there is a tropical breeze all the year-round and the temperature hovers between 17C and 30C according to the altitude. There are hardly any variations between the summer and winter months. The two rainy seasons are from April to June and September to November which are well underlined.
